The duo are in the running for Number One with their original version of the song, Merry Christmas.

Their new duet, Merry Christmas, was released on Friday December 3, 2021 and sits at the top spot on the charts.

The bookie rate the song as short as 1/33 to be top of the UK charts at Christmas – representing a 97% chance.

Sausage Rolls For Everyone is available to purchase and stream from December 17.

According to Official Charts, Ed Sheeran apparently reached out to LadBaby with a plan for a Christmas collaboration.

Ed wanted to see if they could break the all-time chart record together.

Leading the chasing pack, George Ezra with his single, Come on Home for Christmas.

The singer had been working on a new album this year, and released a reworked version of a 1960s Christmas song by Charles Brown in November.

George explained to the BBC that he and his writing partner Joel Pott had to really get into the spirit to make the song perfect, despite writing it in July and recording in September.

“We all got into the studio with the band but we agreed to come in our Christmas jumpers,” he said.

The UK comedic duo Adam Rowe and Dan Nightingale have fast been gathering popularity on with their podcast Have A Word Pod.

They are now incredibly set to make a big claim towards grabbing the coveted title, based on the pre-order numbers of their new single – Laura’s Gone. 

Laura’s Gone was released on December 17, with proceeds from the sales going to the charity Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice and the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust.

The song reflects on the joy of Christmas morning and was released on CD on December 3.

The announcement for the UK’s number one Christmas song will be made on Christmas Eve on BBC Radio 1’s Official Chart with Scott Mills from 4pm.

The cut-off for the Christmas Number 1 race 2021 is 23.59pm Thursday 23 December.

What was 2020’s Number One Christmas song?

YouTuber LadBaby has managed to secure not one, not two, but three Christmas number ones since 2018!

LadBaby – Mark Hoyle – was crowned Christmas chart-topper with Don’t Stop Me Eatin’, (2020), I Love Sausage Rolls (2019) and We Built This City (2018).

In true festive spirits, the profits made from the singles went to a foodbank charity – The Trussell Trust. 

The YouTuber was lucky enough to bag the Christmas Number One in 2020, but will he have the same festive cheer in 2021?
